Uh oh - problem with going away: what to do about a Christmas tree, turkey, etc.? We've thought of that. Leave it to us.

What's in the package

• Turkey, worth ~£75: we get Bronze Turkeys (the best), reared naturally, weight normally about 11-14 lbs (5-6 kg); we can usually supply a beef or lamb alternative on request.
• Festive decorations.
• Splendid big Christmas tree lit up in the courtyard (grown locally); Kirkmirren has its own tree - fragrant Fraser Fir or Nordmann Fir.
• Bottle of Port (or wine if preferred).
• Get off work earlier, and get up to 2 extra days free! Avoid the last minute traffic rush! Discover the local shops ...

Castle Douglas has its own specialist upmarket purveyor of fine foods and drinks: Harris & Co. Their regular range of special goodies is superlative, but at Christmas they excel themselves.
