All the trees and woodlands around the estate are simply magical in frost, especially the birches with their purple twigs in sharp focus - try the birch woods on Blackbellie Hill (just beyond the Doach Wood on the left), or hidden away above Glenyerrock Farm on the opposite side of the road.

And of course frost goes hand in hand with clear night skies. There's no light pollution to speak of in Galloway, so the stars seem ten times brighter. Take a short evening walk and blow your mind.
